Horowitz Freedom Center challenges Brooklyn College’s support for terrorist-funded propaganda groups
The David Horowitz Freedom Center claimed credit for posters that appeared today on the campus of Brooklyn College (CUNY) depicting the organization Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) as a puppet of Hamas terrorists and denouncing convicted terrorist Rasmieh Odeh as a “Terrorist Murderer” who is nonetheless exalted as a “Hero to SJP and JVP.” JVP is the acronym for the organization Jewish Voice for Peace, which like SJP supports the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. Both posters contain the hashtag #NoSupportForCampusTerrorists.
As was revealed in recent congressional testimony, Students for Justice in Palestine is a campus front for Hamas terrorists. SJP’s propaganda activities are orchestrated and funded by a Hamas front group, American Muslims for Palestine, whose principals are former officers of the Holy Land Foundation and other Islamic “charities” previously convicted of funneling money to Hamas. Hamas is a State Department-designated terrorist organization whose explicit goals, as stated in its charter, are the destruction of the Jewish state, and the extermination of its Jews.
Brooklyn College is the first of ten campuses to be named to the list of those whose administrations are “most friendly to terrorists and hostile to the First Amendment” and to be targeted by the Freedom Center’s poster campaign. The other campuses will be named on subsequent days.
“Students for Justice in Palestine functions as the most prominent pro-terrorist, anti-Jewish organization in America, and the lead instigator of the Hamas-backed Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement on American campuses,” observes Freedom Center founder David Horowitz. “Even knowing this, the college administrations profiled in our report continue to promote SJP on their campuses while actively working to suppress speech that exposes the truth about SJP and its ties to terrorism.”
“Our poster campaign has a dual purpose,” continued Horowitz. “It exposes the truth about SJP’s ties to anti-Israel terrorism and its glorification of terrorists like Rasmieh Odeh and it challenges the administration at Brooklyn College to defend speech that deviates from the typical anti-Israel narrative that dominates on campus.”
The report and posters are part of a larger Freedom Center campaign titled Stop the Jew Hatred on Campus. The campaign also recently released a report on the “Top Ten Schools Supporting Terrorists.” Images of the posters that appeared at Brooklyn College may be viewed here.
The David Horowitz Freedom Center, founded in 1989, is a not-for-profit organization located in Sherman Oaks, California. The Center’s mission is to defend free societies like America and Israel, which are under attack by totalitarians both religious and secular, domestic and foreign.
